Our multicultural backgrounds create bonds with different places. One of these special spots is Colombia, and during a trip we saw an opportunity to bring together the community, our favorite drinks brand, and our creativity to have some impact.

Mi Playa tu Playa is a program that started as a one shot and became a recurring beach cleaning activation where members of the communities in the Colombian caribbean come together to take care of their own beaches. 

It took a lot to bring together so many stakeholders, starting with the local government, the police department, and local community leaders. However, it became a successful program still taking place periodically in different towns of the Colombian coast.

One of the cool things we’ve noticed while running these programs is how all age ranges engage in such a different way. 

While you would be expecting, like us, that younger people might be the most energetic and engaged, we were surprised to see how it became meaningful for every member of the community. 

From the older people who saw how finally someone was doing something to recover their beautiful space, to entire families working together, teenager groups competing with each other, and so on.
